Dewu Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Dewu, Shuicheng, Guizhou. It was named by Yang Shipu in 1962.
Lithology and Thickness
Limestone. Gray-white dolomitic limestone and gray crystalline limestone. Thickness ~240 m. At Shikan of Panxian County, the formation turns to be of gray-black clayey limestone and limestone, with sparse fossils; thickness ~370 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Uncertain: The relation with the underlying stratum is unclear at the type section. Regionally, transitions with the Zhaojiashan Fm (also a dolomitic limestone), and next older unit is the Caohai Fm.
Upper contact
Conformable contact with the overlying Huashiban Fm at the type section. Regionally, next younger unit is also a dolomitic limestone of the Huanglong Fm

Fossils
Brachiopods Gondolina sp., Gigantoproductus sp. and Striatifera sp., Ammonoids Homoceras sp. and Proshumardites as well as minor Corals Palaeosmilia sp., Dibunophyllum sp., etc. At the top of the formation there occurs the primary Fusulinid Eostaffella sp.;
